Come support this fundraising event for Pagan Pride Day 2011, benefit from spiritual and physical rejuvenation, and maybe win a prize in the raffle!

Pagan Pride LA/OC is holding our annual Healing Faire this year on May 15, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Green Man - at 5712 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood (just north of Burbank Blvd.) Suggested donation $5, no one turned away for lack of funds.

Workshops include:

• 12:00 noon: Healing with Drums and Rhythm - Dr. Alfred Surenyan. BRING YOUR OWN DRUMS/PERCUSSION! Learn how the use of drums and rhythm can heal the mind, body and soul. Rhythm is the natural inherence of human existence. It exists in our body, heart, and soul. Drumming can holistically cure and heal the body of disease, depression, and help boost the immune system. This workshop is an overview of how drumming can benefit and heal.


• 1:10 p.m.: Rick Stewart - Healing Power of our Magical Mind


• 2:00 p.m.: Rev. Karen Tate. Discover how shifting from patriarchy to the partnership ideals of Goddess spirituality can bring healing to our ailing relationships, society and planet. Hear why the Feminine Consciousness, right brain thinking or Goddess Spirituality might be the answer to humankind's woes. Discuss how to incorporate these ideals into your spiritual and political paradigm. Learn how and why Goddess Advocates, men and women both, need to step up to make a difference to help heal the world.


• 4:00 p.m.: Green Medicines by Julie James. “Green Medicines” are one of the few remaining affordable methods of health care: humanity’s 1st medicines, and still the primary health care system of well over half of the world! When used correctly, herbal medicine is exceptionally safe and effective. It is best used to strengthen and build the body, bringing balance to all systems, not as a substitute for pharmaceutical drugs.
  In this lecture we’ll go over the basics of herbal health care, how to make herbal medicines at home, the best medicinal herbs to grow in Southern California and how to harvest and store them, plus common sense, safety issues, contraindications, and the like. A short Q & A session will follow, as time permits.
